Two Songs on Poems by Robert Frost
Because of the Sonny Bono Copyright Extension Act of 1998, these two works are not currently available for purchase. The dates when the texts re-enter public domain (unless the copyright is again "recaptured" by the Frost estate) are listed next to the titles.

1. Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening (text enters public domain in 2019)
2. The Rabbit Hunter (text enters public domain in 2037)
Two of my “earlier” works, composed in 1989 and premiered in L.A. by Ann Reid in a private concert and later performed by Mark Saltzman in a Pacific Composers Forum concert at The Colburn School, L.A. in May, 1999.
The musical style is Coplandesque in Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening and sort of Prokofian* in The Rabbit Hunter. The two songs, with their wooded setting, make an interesting pairing for recitals, whether sung by a male or female. Check out the
other Frost setting in this catalog, Quandary.
* The adjective “Prokofian” seems better to me than “Prokofievian” or “Prokofievesque,” or even “Prokofieffy.” The dictionary says nothing about this matter. Feedback welcome. -D.R.
